CrewChief Time Clock

The time clock function enables businesses to conveniently and affordably track field worker time. It can also be used for warehouse and office staff. The CrewChief app can be used on work or personal phones. The privacy mode features avoid intruding into an employees personal life but provides the information needed to manage business.

Accessing the Time Clock

To access the Time Clock, click the clock icon on the map or “Time Clock” from the 3 dot menu on the lower right. 

Viewing Time Information

The time clock information is displayed in a web portal and in the Activity Log in the app. The user’s last location is provided on a map when not in Private Mode. Activities are logged when the user starts a shift. Prior to starting a shift, the last known location is reported. There are no history details or track views until a shift is started.  

Geotab and Telematics Integration

If you are utilizing Geotab or one of the telematics integrated solutions, you will access the map and report through their web portal. This conveniently puts the mobile app user on the same map as the other assets being tracker in their portal.

In Geotab, to initiate reporting to the Geotab portal, go to the Marketplace in the left menu, and search for CrewChief. You should be able to click on the Order Now option to install it in your account. If you do not see these options, contact your reseller. Geotab data is used to validate some of the data collected by the app or provide information such as assets available.

Add users to the Geotab account. The email is the unique identifier and is what is used to link the user to your telematics account. On logging into the CrewChief app, the user will be linked to your account. To terminate the link, simply remove the user from your telematics account.

Using the CrewChief App

Once a shift is started, simply toggle between the various status. Private mode cannot be use during a shift. A user can instead use Personal mode which will continue to calculate the miles and time for an adjustment to mileage or hourly wages compensation.
